How to Plan a Lazy Fall Weekend

After days of sweltering heat, that first cool morning is a welcome relief and a sign that autumn is on its way. This season, with its cool breezes and warm colors, is perfect for Sunday afternoons spent enjoying the crisp weather on the back porch with friends or curled up on the couch with a good book (and a pumpkin spice latte, of course.) Here are some of the ways we like to enjoy this season.

SLOW LIVING

Fall is perfect for slow living and enjoying the little luxuries that come with the season. Watching the leaves change, enjoying the breeze – these things are easily enjoyed with friends and family.

Sometimes, however, the best company is you and your perfect self – and no one else! With the fresh air blowing in, fall is the best time to relax, take some time for yourself, and start something new. We suggest picking up a new book or starting a new Netflix series. Some of our favorites?

Books

If You Knew Her by Emily Elgar
The Date by Louise Jenson
Girl, Wash your Face by Rachel Hollis
UNFU*K YOURSELF by Gary John Bishop
PRESENT not Perfect by Aimee Chase

Netflix

Two shows I’m really loving on Netflix right now are Ozark and Wentworth.

SLOW SIPPING

Autumn may be made for slow living, but that does not necessarily mean life slows down. Between your job and your family and your 3, it can be hard to find time in the week to enjoy the newly crisp air.

You are probably spending your weekdays sippin’ on pumpkin spice lattes (with an extra shot, please?). We get it – slow living just isn’t possible during your 9-to-5. But Friday through Sunday? Why not add a different kind of spice to your coffee with this Rumchata Pumpkin Spice latte? It’s perfect for a slow Saturday morning.

After spending a day rejuvinating by yourself with your boozy latte and that new book, you might want to spend Sunday with the girlfriends. Invite them over for brunch with these Autumn Spritzer Cocktails.

SLOW DINING

A slow Sunday brunch needs more than just cocktails (sometimes). We suggest dining on this quiche. It’s easy to make, so you will be able to enjoy a slow Sunday along with your guests.

Depending on how chilly it is, you could serve your dish and cocktails on the porch with some blankets or inside by a cozy, crackling fire. There are plenty of fall weekends ahead and all kinds of ways to enjoy a lazy weekend, so be sure to mix it up. If you need help planning your fall festivities, make sure to check out our services.
